broyé du Poitou is a delicious, dry, crunchy, shortbread-like cake. It's the traditional Vienne dessert par excellence!
Traditionally, it's broken with a fist in the middle on special occasions, and everyone can choose their share.


This delicious local specialty, formerly known as "far", can be served cold as a starter or hot as a main course.
This cake with goat's or cow's cheese is unique for its delicate taste and black crust!
Legend has it that in the old days, the leftover goat's milk was used to make curds and later cakes. But one day, a farmer forgot the cake in the oven and it ended up burning. She decided to taste it anyway, and that's when she discovered the superb combination of burnt on the top with a soft structure on the inside. The cheese cake was born!
Traditionally, in the region, tourteau was eaten during wedding receptions. But why deprive yourself of this little pleasure on other occasions? 😉


Chabichou du Poitou (the only one, the real one!) is made from pure goat's milk and is recognizable by its specific shape of a small truncated cone.
It has benefited from the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée since 1990 and the Appellation d'Origine Protégée since 1996.
This delicious almond-based sweet has nothing to envy the macaroon of Paris!
