Who's it for?
The Urban Trail Poitiers is for everyone! 10km long with a difference in altitude of 100m, this loop can be done running for the more sporty or walking for others.
The race is timed: participants seeking sporting performance will be served, especially as the race is included in the official calendar of races outside the stadium.
For walkers, the route has been designed so that the panoramas and places crossed make this walk a unique moment of discovery, whether you participate alone, with colleagues, friends or family: friendliness and good humour are the watchwords of this event!
When?
Every year in September
There are two separate departures:
- the first, for runners
- the second, for walkers
How can I do that?
Walkers and runners follow the same route, only the start time differs.
The Urban Trail Poitiers is part of an eco-responsibility approach. Concretely, this is expressed through :
- Eco-responsible events
- No plastic cups or bottles
- 100% organic and/or locavore refreshments
- Dry Toilets at the start and finish of the race Place du Maréchal Leclerc
Where to?
The route forms a 10km loop with a 100m difference in altitude.
Many surprises punctuate the itinerary of the participants, with notably passages inside heritage buildings, animations, etc.
Start and finish in Place Leclerc, Poitiers (where the town hall is located).
By whom?
The Grand Poitiers Tourist Office is at the origin of this project: to allow participants to discover the city in a different way, by being an actor of this experience. This is the main objective of this approach. It is also an opportunity to play with the declivity of the city and the existence of many heritage treasures.
EPA 86 (Entente Poitiers Athlé 86)a locally recognized player, manages the operational organization of the race. The association draws on its experience in this field and can rely on a solid network of volunteers to make this race a memorable experience for all, in complete safety.
Finally, several private partners were solicited and responded to help make this event possible.
