Welcome to Lusignan. 20 km south-west of Poitiers, go through the fortified gateway to discover the historic town, its 15th century half-timbered houses and the remains of feudal castles. The narrow streets have kept their medieval layout.

Listed as a Historic Monument, the halles of 1853 with their magnificent wooden frameworks.
From the Promenade de Blossac, you can enjoy an exceptional panoramic view of the Vonne Valley.
Founded in the 11th century by the Seigneur de Lusignan, the Romanesque church in the shape of a Latin cross was remodeled following the Hundred Years' War. On the exterior, a sculpture of Mélusine adorns the chevet.
It's not for nothing that the commune is part of the Petites Cités de Caractère ! 🙂

The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Jazeneuil
Five kilometers from Lusignan, don't miss the Saint-Jean-Baptiste church in Jazeneuil, with its rich ornamentation and contemporary stained glass windows.
Beneath this little marvel of Romanesque art, a spring flows into the neighboring washhouse. A charming, bucolic trio! On foot, by bike, on horseback or even in a canoe, the verdant Vonne valley is the perfect place for a stroll.
Numerous GR trails, signposted footpaths and even the Route de Saint-Jacques de Compostelle criss-cross the region. The highlight of this green recital is the bewitching Saint-Sauvant state forest.
