The Roof - la maison de l'escalade is a Poitou-based venue for families, climbers, friends, gourmets, young and old alike.
In this nicely renovated former hangar, bouldering (max height: 4.5 m) is available for 2-year-olds and up. You don't have to be an expert, and you don't have to work in pairs. The hall offers 7 levels of difficulty spread over a hundred or so routes, plus a climbing area reserved for the little ones!
But there's more to The Roof than that: the "yoga" room welcomes you for wellness activities: yoga, pilates, rigology, sophrology, etc.; the climbing store where you'll find all the equipment climbers need (for all practices: bouldering, climbing routes); as well as cultural events (bal tra, exhibitions, games evenings, etc.) and sporting events (championships, contests, themed evenings)!
It's possible to have a drink or eat at the Roof, with the bar/restaurant!
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, come and enjoy chef Julien's delicious dishes, by the wood-burning stove in winter or on the terrace in fine weather. With local, organic and seasonal produce, the menu changes weekly and even daily for some dishes. There's something for everyone, and don't forget to save room for desserts!
Open to all from Tuesday to Saturday lunchtime - reservations (by phone) strongly recommended.

For the smooth running of climbing courses during periods other than school vacationsThe children's area is not open to the public during the following periods:
- Wednesdays from 3:30 to 6:15 p.m.
- Thursdays from 5 to 7:15 p.m.
- Fridays from 16h45 to 18h45
- Saturdays from 10 to 11 a.m.
Climbing shoes compulsory, can be rented for €3.50
