From the 1st to the 4th century A.D., the Gallo-Roman town extended over 25 hectares and was an important spa resort. Today, it's the remains of the theater, thermal baths and large sanctuary that you'll discover during your visit. Every summer, the site welcomes "Lyrical evenings in Sanxay for performances of operas from the great repertoire in its open-air Gallo-Roman theater.
OPENING HOURS AND PERIOD
- September 16 to May 14: Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm (closed Mondays and Tuesdays)
- May 15 to September 15: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 1pm and 2pm to 6pm (closed on Mondays)
Last access to the monument 1 hour before closing time
Closed on January 1, May 1, November 1 and 11, December 25 and the first two weeks of January after school vacations
Exceptional closures on June 7 in the afternoon, June 10 all day, June 17 and 25 in the morning.
