The Parc de Blossac, created at the end of the 17th century, is composed of a magnificent 9 hectare terrace above the valley of the Clain de Poitiers, with various gardens around a large perspective "à la française" :
The French garden
This garden is very geometrical as it was influenced by the style of the great gardeners of the reign of Louis XIV. This geometry allowed the creation of several viewpoints. In order to modernize it, the Poitevins added a bandstand, a water jet basin and two sculptures by Antoine Etex.
The English-style garden
The abundance of foliage creates a play of volumes and colours. Water is a strong element of this garden: caves, fountains and artificial river.
Statues are installed to pay homage to the Count of Blossac and the Poitevin painter Léon Perrault.
The garden of light and shade
Visitors will find on one side a garden topped by a light-sculpting pergola, under which the flowers and foliage have been chosen for their dark colours. On the other side, they will see a garden made up of foliage and flowers in bright, brilliant colours.
Le Grand Pré
A green theatre overlooks a vast sunny meadow that hosts the 14th July fireworks and large concerts in summer.
The rock garden
The base of the ramparts of Blossac has been enhanced thanks to the presence of plants that mix with the rock creating a rock garden and a Mediterranean garden.
The zoological park
Many animals live in the Blossac park: chickens, rabbits, guinea pigs, parakeets and many others.

From March 1st to October 31st: from 7:15 am to 10:30 pm
Opening hours of the English Garden :

From March 1 to October 31: 7:15 a.m. to 10 p.m.
