Îlot Tison came into being in 2018, replacing a vast industrial wasteland on the banks of the Clain, Poitiers' main waterway, and below the Parc de Blossac, the city's green lung. Several distinct areas with a variety of activities await you: there's something for everyone, so let yourself be tempted!
A former sawmill
Before the redevelopment of the Îlot Tison, a sawmill was located here It was one of the region's most important companies at the turn of the century. Closed following a fire in the 1980s, today you can contemplate the remains First, look at the transparent hall, then head for the rest of the buildings, now occupied by the Guinguette Pictave.

Nautical activities
Just off the footbridge, on the Îlot side, you'll find Tex' equipment.
Here, you can enjoy a full range of water sports, including canoeing, paddleboarding, giant paddleboarding and pedal-boating. are on the program for a refreshing stroll along the water.

Swimming in Tison
Take the footbridge to the other side of the river: you're not dreaming, you're looking at a natural swimming pool!
In place since summer 2023The Tison bathing area is the culmination of a long-standing project. Historically, Poitevins used to bathe in the river Clain, just opposite the current area, at the Jouteau baths (you can still see the remains of a diving board).
From now on, in July and August, a large tank (with walls drilled to let current through) will be installed for safe cooling. Bathing is supervised and regular analyses guarantee the quality of the water.
