Built on a Latin cross plan with no north arm, the west façade is decorated with two blind arcatures typical of Poitou Romanesque art which frame the central portal and a rich decoration decorates the whole wall. The quality of the sculptures on the chevet of the church is comparable to that of the great churches of Poitou. The name of Saint John the Baptist, attributed to the church, refers to purifying water, two stained glass windows have been made on this theme.
