Concealed by a curtain of trees several centuries old, in the heart of a cemetery of Merovingian origin, the church of Saint-Pierre-les-Églises conceals on the walls of its apse Carolingian frescoes, created between 780 and 980. The whole of this work, which is among the oldest in medieval Europe, illustrates in an original form the themes of the Nativity, the Crucifixion of Jesus or the Apocalypse.
